About Reiki

A Reiki Attunement opens your energy meridians so that healing "Universal Life Force Energy" can flow through your hands (and feet for some people). Though everyone already has some energy flowing through their hands, Reiki opens the hand chakras and greatly enhances the energy flow.

What is "Universal Life Force Energy?"

It is called Ki in Japan, Chi in China, Prana in India, and Ether in the West. Universal Life Force Energy is the essential energy of life. One could even call it Love. In fact, if you focus on your heart center with a feeling of love while practicing Reiki, the energy flow will be much stronger. This flow of Energy raises the vibration of the body (in both practitioner and client), energizing the cells and reminding them of their inherent perfection. Thus healing can take place.

* Most people experience Reiki as a very relaxing and uplifting flow of energy.

* Often people will fall asleep during a Reiki session while their body absorbs the nurturing Energy.

* Anyone can practice Reiki, once they have the first degree Attunement, even small children.

* Reiki can be used on everything, including animals, plants, water, and our planet. Some animals really like it!

* Reiki can also be sent from a distance, after you have the Second Degree Attunement.

How Reiki Works

Our natural, ideal state is balance. Reiki helps us relax and move closer to the balance we are meant to experience. In this relaxation, healing can happen spontaneously. Our cells are just waiting for us to stop resisting our own well-being. Reiki is one way of releasing resistance to healing and allowing our "Ki" energy to flow in balance.

Reiki also opens the flow of energy (Ki or Chi) in the practitioner. Many people find that they are more psychic after a Reiki Attunement. It helps to activate the natural intuition we were all born with. You may find that information comes to you "out of the blue" about the person you are treating with Reiki. Use your own discretion about sharing such information with your clients. Always foster their uplifted sense of hope, which is healing in and of itself.

How is it possible to send Reiki from a distance?

We are all connected. Even though everything appears to be separate in our reality, underneath the illusion of our three-dimensional experience we are all part of the same energy. Nothing is really separate. So, when we set our intention on sending healing energy to another, in a sense, we are simply sending it to another part of ourselves. If the other person is open to it, they will receive the benefit.

Reiki Attunements must be passed in person.

The Three levels of Reiki Attunement

Reiki Attunements require physical contact,
so phone sessions are not available.

First Degree - for hands-on healing. ($100 w/sliding scale available)

This is the basic Reiki level that opens your energy meridians to allow Universal Life Force Energy to flow through your hands (and feet for some people.) Requires a hands-on Attunement.

Second Degree - for distant healing and emotional healing. ($100)

You will learn to use the Reiki symbols for increasing flow of energy specifically for physical, or emotional healing. Plus you will learn to use the symbols for sending Reiki to others at a distance. Requires a hands-on Attunement.

Third Degree (Master level) - for teaching Reiki to others. ($300)

In the third level of Reiki, you receive an Attunement that allows you to give Attunements to others. Full instructions and practice sessions are included. Requires a hands-on Attunement.

Note: First Degree Reiki is offered on a sliding scale, because I believe that anyone who feels drawn to Reiki should be able to receive the first degree Attunement, no matter what their financial circumstances.

Reiki Group Classes

If you want to organize your friends for a group Reiki class, I offer a one-day Reiki I or II class for $75 per person - including Jin Shin Jyutsu and Chakra Clearing practice. Four person minimum.

Note: Unlike some Reiki Masters, I prefer to teach the three levels separately, at least one day apart. I feel that this allows you to integrate each level in a deeper way. Plus, you can feel the difference that each level brings about in your own experience. However, if you are coming from a distance, I would be happy to give the Reiki I and II attunements together.

Balancing Energy with
Jin Shin Jyutsu

I use Jin Shin Jyutsu (also spelled Jin Shin Juitsu) along with Reiki to balance the energy meridians of the body. It is a simple technique that works like battery cables. When you place one hand on one meridian point and the other hand on another, there is a detectable pulse that is often different in each hand.

As you hold the points and focus intention on balancing the energy, the pulses will align so they are pulsing in unison. This means those two points are now in balance. There are many points, all over the body that can be balanced in this way, and specific combinations can be used for specific ailments.

Basic Jin Shin Juitsu instruction is included by request in all my Reiki Attunement lessons. While Jin Shin Juitsu can be a very complex study when it is used in specific ways to heal various diseases or injuries, the basic energy balancing techniques are simple and easy to learn. Jin Shin Jyutsu is not the same thing as Reiki, and is most often used without Reiki, but Reiki and Jin Shin Jyutsu work very well together.
