Welcome Springtime!Greetings!

Here we are at the beginning of springtime again… at least in the Celtic calendar where it is called Imbolc (February 1st-2nd).

Where I live in Sonoma County, CA, the blossoms are beginning to pop, though it is still what we call cold during the day (I’m sure some of you will laugh at that.) It is one of my favorite times of year, because it feels so full of hope and new life.

This month I found some very interesting articles on how much saturated fat we need (none!), how to maintain your balance as you get older, Chinese tips for preventing nighttime urination, and a very quick circulation boost exercise from Donna Eden.

It’s amazing what we can do with energy!

WulfWorks News

I hosted a wonderful four day in-person VIP Immersion with two delightful ladies where we dived into Bars, Reiki, a Shamanic Journey, EFT & Matrix Reimprinting, Health & Nutrition Coaching, as well as Neurographic art and book design.

Here’s what they said about it:

My sister and I experienced a four day immersion together with Bernadette. It was more than wonderful. It was magical. More than we could have ever dreamed of. Bernadette’s offerings wove together a healing cocoon that created a deep dive into our true essence, our underlying need and understanding of our past where we were both eagerly moved to looking forward. Bernadette’s calm insight and genuine caring and wisdom was felt, giving us comfort in opening up to unresolved trauma unknowingly holding us back to live a full and happy life. In four days we both experienced healing and aliveness we didn’t know were possible. How do you thank someone that saw your needs and provided the way home to joy. She provided a rainbow path of modalities where we could reach the pot of gold for self discovery and healing beyond our expectations. The weaving of her offerings provided an immersion of magical transformation for us both.
Beyond gratitude,
Donna & Sue

Saturated fat clogs arteriesSaturated Fat—Good or Bad?

You may have noticed that the new U.S. dietary guidelines put saturated fatty foods right at the top in the widest part of the upside-down food pyramid.

Sadly, that goes against just about every health organization’s recommendation (and smacks of meat and dairy industry influence—which the guidelines even admit, i.e. “We are realigning our food system to support American farmers, ranchers, and companies who grow and produce real food…”).

WFT? What about supporting human health? What about all the decades of research showing that saturated fats clog arteries and lead to heart disease, diabetes and low oxygen levels? I guess none of that matters as long as ranchers are making a profit.

Bottom line, nobody needs to eat saturated fat. Our bodies make all we need. Here’s an overview of an excellent article from FoodRevolution.org:

  • Saturated fat isn’t one thing — it’s a group of fatty acids, and its effects depend on the type and the overall food context.

  • Most evidence shows saturated fat raises LDL (“bad”) cholesterol, which increases heart disease risk.

  • Health organizations still recommend limiting it, generally to under 6–10% of daily calories, replacing it with unsaturated plant fats and limiting all fats to 10-15% of our total daily calories.

  • Major sources to avoid include animal products (meat, butter, cheese) and tropical oils (coconut, palm), especially in processed foods.

  • Shifting toward whole food, plant-based fats supports both personal health and environmental sustainability.

practice balance to prevent fallsMaintaining Balance as You Get Older

Falls are one of the biggest causes of injury and death as we age, but there’s a lot we can do to prevent them.

One of the best ways is improving our balance with simple exercises that don’t take a lot of time or energy (follow the link below to see the exercises—I’d ignore their diet advice).

Here are some tips from EatWell.com to get you started:

How to Practice Balance Safely

To reduce the risk of falls or injury, keep these safety tips in mind:

    • Use Support When Needed. Keep a wall, sturdy chair or counter nearby to hold onto until you feel stable.
    • Clear Your Space. “To reduce the risk of tripping, ensure the area is tidy and free of clutter,” says Ruecker.
    • Wear Proper Shoes. Supportive, non-slip footwear can prevent slips and improve stability.
    • Start Slow. Perform exercises at a controlled pace, as rushing increases the risk of losing balance. “Starting simple, listening to your body and slowly increasing the difficulty are also great ways to stay safe while still making progress,” shares Ruecker.
    • Engage Your Core. A strong, engaged core helps support better balance and control.
    • Progress Gradually. Increase the difficulty only when you can perform the exercise confidently and safely.
    • Focus Your Gaze. Looking at a fixed point ahead, such as a picture on the wall, can help improve stability.
    • Seek Professional Help. A physical therapist or certified personal trainer can provide personalized recommendations.

Chinese energy healing tips

Is Frequent Urination Interrupting Your Sleep?

According to Chinese medicine, if you find yourself waking up to pee several times at night, your kidneys need help.

Aside from massaging the point shown here just behind your inner ankle bone, there are several other tips to help relieve nighttime trips to the bathroom.

One interesting tip is to eat more black foods, i.e. black rice, black beans, prunes, blackberries, black sesame seeds, especially when they are warm.

Walnuts, chives, mushrooms and chestnuts are also recommended.

These ladies may be over the top with their enthusiasm, but they have some great quick energy healing tips like this one. You can boost your oxygen and circulation in just a couple of minutes. Why not?

By the way, Donna used her energy healing techniques to heal herself of Multiple Sclerosis in her youth and has kept herself pretty healthy into old age with her energy modalities—as well as teaching thousands of other people how to heal with energy… so listen up.
